The Oral Arguments were heard on December 17th at the Boaters Class Action Appeal Hearing. We steadfastly hope for a positive outcome and ruling in the boaters’ favor. If the ruling favors the boaters, then the original ruling would be overturned and remanded back to the local court for a trial. The ruling is expected within 60 to 90 days. Let’s all think positively about a favorable outcome. Click here for a link to the proceedings.
We still need donations to the Legal Fund to cover the ongoing costs and fees associated with pursuing this litigation on behalf of boaters. Please contribute today. We appreciate your continued support!
In response to the outcry over steep slip fee increases in Dana Point Harbor, the County of Orange has commissioned an outside appraisal to determine fair market rates. Thanks to concerned boaters and county residents, officials want to examine existing costs more closely to ensure they reflect actual market conditions.

The Dana Point Boaters Association is the champion of recreational boating and the jewel that is Dana Point Harbor.
The Dana Point Boaters Association advocates the preservation, enhancement, and expansion of affordable recreational boating. We work to improve the family-friendly atmosphere and breadth of water-oriented activities we all enjoy in the harbor. We serve as the watchdog by ethically protecting the rights of all boaters and representing them when collective action is most effective. We actively gather information and communicate our views to educate boaters, external interests, and public officials. We build and maintain constructive, working relationships to achieve common goals with other harbor stakeholders. We will pass on our harbor to the next generation of recreational boaters in better condition than it is today.
This is a high-stakes match, but it isn’t a game! If we lose, it could cause a trickle-down effect in ALL California marinas. 100% of all donations are transferred directly to the Law Firm Legal Fund. Your identifying information will not be shared.
Your generous donation will help support the Boaters' Class Action Legal Fund.
Dana Point Boaters Association was founded in 2007 by a group of community members who recognized the need for a local organization dedicated to protecting affordable recreational boating. Since then, we have grown into a thriving nonprofit, serving thousands of individuals each year.
